In 2013, Cuyahoga Arts & Culture piloted a crowd-sourced grantmaking program, Creative Culture Grants. More than 6,500 residents voted for their favorite big idea, using their voices to bring two brand new arts and cultural experiences to life. Selected ideas received up to $150,000 to make their dream a reality. The two winning projects were presented to area residents in 2014 and reached over 450,000 people through in-person events, TV, social media and online.





AHA! Cleveland was a multi-day festival of lights presented by LAND studio in downtown Cleveland spaces in August 2014. More than 8,000 residents attended three public events funded by CAC, including four large-scale art installations.
Daring to Be Dumbo addressed the tough topic of bullying through a made-for-television documentary narrated by Al Roker, which aired in April 2014. In addition, 1,000 area residents attended local outreach programs featuring Dancing Wheels members, which took place at libraries across Cuyahoga County.
